OneDrive for Business

What is OneDrive UZH?

OneDrive for Business is Microsoft's cloud service that connects you to all your files. You can store and protect your files, share them with others and access them from anywhere with any of your devices. The OneDrive for Business instance managed by the Central IT is abbreviated as "OneDrive UZH".

How is data privacy regulated at OneDrive UZH?

Microsoft 365 UZH has been specially designed and configured to meet the data privacy requirements of the UZH and has been approved by the UZH data privacy department with two restrictions.

  1. Data that are subject to professional secrecy according to Art. 321 and 321bis StGB may only be stored in OneDrive UZH with additional protection ("customer lockbox"). At the UZH, this includes (patient) data from the Center for Dental Medicine ZZM, the Institute for Forensic Medicine IRM, the Institute for Medical Microbiology IMM, etc. Likewise, research data involving patients of medical doctors and psychologists. Please contact your IT Coordinator for the activation of the customer lockbox function.
  2. "Other classified data" must not be stored in OneDrive UZH.

All other data is allowed in Microsoft 365 UZH.
