Microsoft 365 & Teams for Students
The University of Zurich's IT department provides all students with a comprehensive software package free of charge.
- Microsoft 365 allows you to use the applications online, but also offers the option of installing the programs locally on your device. This allows you to edit documents stored locally or in the cloud (OneDrive).
- Microsoft Teams is the central platform for communication and collaboration. It combines chat, meetings, notes, and file attachments, thereby supporting collaboration during your studies.
Registration and Installation
- You can sign up for Microsoft 365 using your University of Zurich student account.
- Once you have successfully signed up, you can download the Office applications free of charge and install them locally.
What happens after leaving UZH?
- The option to use Office 365 free of charge expires automatically upon de-registration.
- If you would like to continue working with Microsoft Office, you can take out a paid subscription (e.g., Office 365 Home or Personal).
