DeepL Pro

Together with the SWITCH Foundation, the University of Zurich offers its employees a cost-effective access to DeepL Translate Pro Advanced.

Advantages of DeepL Pro Advanced compared to DeepL Free:

• Data Protection: DeepL Pro does not store texts to optimize machine learning.

• Scope: You can translate 20 documents (instead of 3) with a size of up to 20 MB (instead of 5 MB) per month.

• Convenience: You can store an unlimited number of terms in your DeepL glossary. This ensures that specific words are always translated in your preferred version or excluded from automatic translation.

Please note: Access to the API (Application Programming Interface) is not included in the package described above.

If you subscribe to DeepL Translate Pro through the described method, your cost center will be charged CHF 5 per month.

Order your DeepL Translate subscription through the UZH software portal or, if your organizational unit does not have access to the ordering software offered there, directly through your IT manager.

Important: After ordering, you will receive an email with the subject «DeepL Pro - Invitation from procurement@switch.ch». This email contains a link that you must click to activate your DeepL Pro account.

The activation of your DeepL Pro account fails if you have already created a Free subscription using the same email address.

You can solve this problem by cancelling the Free account in the DeepL subscription management. Scroll all the way down there and click on "Delete account". Afterwards, click on the activation link in the email you received from SWITCH.

The cancellation options vary depending on the ordering method:

• If you ordered through the UZH software portal, cancel the subscription through your license dashboard.

• If your IT manager ordered DeepL Translate for you, ask him to cancel your subscription.

If you leave the UZH, your subscription will be automatically canceled.
